Mobile apps

An app in your name, on iPhone and Android.

An app stays on your customer’s phone. They don’t have to remember your website address: your icon is right there on their screen. The best proof that I can build them? You can download one right now.

Honestly

Do you really need an app?

Often, no — a website costs less and is enough. I’ll be frank with you. Here are the four situations where an app really makes a difference:

Your customers come back often

A restaurant, a beauty salon, a gym. The icon on the screen saves them from having to search for it.

You need to notify them

A notification pops up on their phone. An email, on the other hand, can get lost in the mix.

It needs to work without an internet connection

A catalogue you can browse on a train, or in a cellar.

You use a photo or your location

Scan a code to find the nearest shop.

If none of these apply to you, I’d recommend a website: it’s cheaper, and you’ll get it faster.

The process

From the idea to publication (App Store and/or Google Play)

  1. We decide what it does

Three or four features, not thirty. An app that does a few things well is easy to use; an app that tries to do everything isn’t.

  2. We build it, you try it out

You’ll receive the app on your own phone before it’s published. You’ll actually use it in real-world conditions.

  3. Apple and/or Google reviews it

Everything goes through an Apple review — and Google’s for Android — which takes a few days and is beyond our control. I’ll prepare the submission so it passes first time.

  4. Published in your name

The Apple and/or Google account is yours. The app is registered in your name, and any subsequent updates belong to you too.

Publication takes place on the App Store of Apple. A Android (Google Play) version is available on request: Google requires independent publishers to undergo a short testing phase — please allow a little extra time.

Price and turnaround time

How much does an app cost?

The price depends on what the app is designed to do. It is agreed before we start, just as with a website: a fixed price and a deadline, set out in writing.

Type of app Price Timeframe
Showcase — to present, inform, and be remembered from CHF 990 3–4 weeks
With accounts — your customers log in from CHF 2,900 6–8 weeks
Shop — sell via your mobile · up to 50 items included from CHF 4,900 8–10 weeks
Profession — your way of working, as a tool from CHF 7,900 12–16 weeks

Still not sure? Two short options before you commit: Feasibility study — CHF 390 (half a day; you’ll leave with a document and a precise budget) and Full specifications — CHF 690 (three days; everything is set out in writing before a single line of code is written). Both are deducted from the price if you go ahead with the app.

At your own expense: the Apple developer account (CHF 99/year) and Google (CHF 25 one-off fee). These are in your name — the app belongs to you, not to me.
